Peter Pan-generationen

Unfortunately this is what permeates the society today! Besides that, it really reminds me of certain people...

I can recommend the following article, even though it has a couple of years on its back.

“We know so much about failed adult relationships that people approach their own with a heightened sense of emotional risk,” Professor Frank Furedi, a sociologist, says. “In the past, you entered a new relationship with an open mind. Now we think of love as a risk and the most common thought that enters many people’s minds is ‘Be careful, you might get hurt’.” For the Peter Pan brigade, singledom and living alone are better options. If you don’t overcommit, you don’t get hurt.

(...)

“By living as children, we are forgetting how to take risks, and that is one of the most important things we need to do as adults,” Furedi says. “We need to find a contemporary version of adulthood that makes us feel comfortable. Being told that you seem younger than you are or that you don’t look your age is not the best thing to aspire to. Learn to accept your age and believe in yourself.”
