Music in Common - MeXp

Music in Common

In English:
During the three days spend in each city comprising Jordan, Lebanon and Syria we will take the first step towards establishing a different and creative thinking community that integrates elements of music and dance. A new community that is yet not to be found in these countries, based around a communication form that everyone may have in common and understand:

Music and dance!

This project is meant to be for everybody, rhythm or no rhythm, singers or non singers. We wish to open up a door that has been closed too long.
Our aims are likewise very ambitious:

1. We will provide the framework, so that people who do not have specific prerequisites and have very little in common, can nevertheless succeeded in getting a result that is created at the will and desire for a community. They must learn that it is possible, even if you do not necessarily have the talent or experience

The community should transcend all cultural and linguistic borders, so that the Middle East can communicate with the West. Therefore we communicate by music, and not the language.

2. We will help the local youth express themselves through music so that
they may be taken seriously. (Experience from group member, that have lived in the countries and cooperator, Hanna, being a Saudi Arabian shows that creative experiments like this is not taken seriously, because people do not believe it is possible to be good without talent)

3. We will bring music and dance into the public space and demonstrate that
this is where they belong (Experience shows, that music and dance is not happening in the open).

4. We will show that everyone can play music - and play it well.
